School Uniform

School Uniform

At Tenterfields Primary Academy, we believe that wearing a uniform fosters a sense of belonging, community identity, and pride in our school. It acts as a social leveller and prepares our pupils for learning each day.

We work hard to ensure our uniform is practical, comfortable, safe, affordable, and provides the best value for money for parents and carers.

  • PE Safety: Earrings must be removed for PE lessons.

  • Not Permitted: Hoop/dangling earrings, body piercings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings.

Support, Equality & Special Adaptations

Tenterfields Primary Academy is committed to ensuring our uniform policy complies with the Equality Act 2010 and guidelines from the Department for Education.

  • Protected Characteristics & Inclusive Design: Our uniform policy is non-gender-specific. All pupils are welcome to wear the uniform combination they feel most comfortable in.

  • Sensory & Physical Adaptations: Reasonable adjustments can be made for pupils with sensory or physical needs.

  • Medical / Temporary Exceptions: If your child is temporarily unable to wear full uniform (e.g., due to a medical condition requiring alternative footwear), please inform the school in writing for Headteacher review.

  • Financial Hardship: We take a mindful and supportive approach to helping families. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, please speak confidentially to Mr. Simpson (Headteacher) or the school office.
