This week in Year 6, we’ve had a brilliant time in SATs Club! The children have been sharpening their skills with matching pairs games for test answers and even completed a reading comprehension all about themselves—the engagement and enthusiasm were fantastic!
Our reading journey has continued with The Hobbit. Bilbo has set off on his adventure towards the Lonely Mountain, and we’ve already met dwarves, elves, and goblins. The children are loving the story and have been inspired to write some cracking persuasive leaflets promoting The Hobbiton Resort at Universal UK, which (according to their imagination) will open in Bedford in 2030!
In science, we’ve been investigating light, exploring how it travels and how it behaves with different surfaces. Meanwhile, in geography, we’ve continued our learning about global trade, discovering how goods are produced and reach people around the world.
The festive spirit has also been in full swing! We have enjoyed making Christmas cards and calendars, bringing some seasonal cheer to our classrooms.
Year 6 has been full of curiosity, creativity, and fun this week—we can’t wait to see what the next week brings!
