Year 6 Blog - 13/09/2024

What an amazing start to Year 6! I am so proud of everything they have achieved already.

In maths, we have been looking at place value and rounding. The children have looked at numbers up to 10,000,000 and started to round these numbers too. In our maths meetings, we have got back to basics and started with Fractions. We have focused on comparing and ordering fractions and will be beginning to add/subtract fractions too.

In English, we are looking at persuasive language and speeches by Greta Thunberg. It has been wonderful to see how much the children have retained from our Year 5 Geography work.

Year 6 completed one of my favourite lessons in Science this week looking at the inherited traits passed down from parents to their offspring. We have looked at what the offspring of Little Miss and Mr Men characters may look like. Lots of fun!
