It has been another incredibly busy and exciting week in Year 6! As we edge closer to the end of the summer term, the children are making the absolute most of their final weeks at primary school.

Here is a look at what we have been up to:

Showstoppers in the Making

The countdown is officially on for our Year 6 Leavers' Production! We have officially moved into the rehearsal phase, and the classroom has been alive with drama, music, and a lot of laughter. The children are working hard to memorize their lines, perfect their stage positions, and practice their songs. We can already tell this is going to be a show to remember—make sure you have your tissues ready!

Fun in the Forest

We took some well-deserved time away from the desks to enjoy the great outdoors in Forest School. The children demonstrated fantastic teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills across three brilliant activities:

  • Den Building: Designing and constructing sturdy, weather-proof shelters.

  • Dream Catchers: Crafting beautiful, intricate designs using natural materials found around the woods.

  • Mini Water Rafts: Testing engineering skills by building miniature rafts and seeing if they could successfully float.

 

Young Entrepreneurs at Work

The classroom has felt like a bustling boardroom this week as the children dive into their Enterprise Projects. Working in teams, they have been brainstorming business ideas, calculating costs, and designing products or services. They are learning first-hand what it takes to run a business, and we are incredibly impressed by their innovation and commercial minds. NSPCC Workshops

Alongside all the excitement, we also focused on important life skills. The children participated in a workshop run by the NSPCC. The sessions were delivered in a sensitive, age-appropriate way, helping the children understand how to stay safe, recognize their rights, and identify trusted adults they can talk to as they prepare for the big transition to secondary school.
