We had the most incredible time at the Pioneer Centre during our Year 6 residential trip! Throughout our stay, the children threw themselves into a brilliant range of activities, including abseiling, ziplining, fencing, caving, and many more. It was truly inspiring to see how everyone acted as a team player, constantly cheering on and supporting their friends through every new challenge. Every single pupil achieved so much, with many bravely facing—and overcoming—fears they never thought they could conquer. We are all so proud of their resilience and team spirit, and it is safe to say we already miss the place!

In English, the children have recently completed and edited their own captivating autobiographies, having taken great inspiration from Roald Dahl’s Boy. With those finished, we have now shifted our focus towards adding even richer levels of detail to our writing, specifically through vivid setting descriptions. To bring their scenes to life, the pupils have been skillfully incorporating expanded noun phrases and stretching themselves with ambitious new vocabulary. Their
descriptive work is already becoming wonderfully atmospheric and immersive!
