We’ve had such an amazing two weeks. From recreating the solar system to completing our first independent write, everyone has worked exceptionally hard!

In English, we have just finished our first unit and have completed our independent writing. The work that has been produced is fantastic and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading them all. Next week, we will be editing our writing using our purple pens and then publishing our work on some space-themed paper!

In maths, we have been working on our addition and subtraction skills. We have learned lots of different strategies to help us add and subtract mentally and have been deciding when it is most efficient to use each method. We will soon be revisiting column addition and subtraction which I know many are looking forward to!

We have been thoroughly enjoying our science topic all about Earth and space! We have looked at the different planets in our solar system, learned a mnemonic to help us remember the order and even participated in a practical lesson where we recreated the solar system! We discussed how the planets orbit around the sun and it was great to see the children putting this knowledge into practice during this lesson.
