Year 5 Blog - 22.11.2024

22nd November 2024

What a fantastic week we’ve had in Year 5, packed with new learning, creativity, and active fun!

In English, we’ve started reading Holes by Louis Sachar—a story that has already captured our imaginations. Alongside this, we’ve been honing our writing skills by exploring the fascinating life of Sir David Attenborough as we work on his biography.

In Maths, we’ve taken on the challenge of mastering long multiplication. It’s been amazing to see everyone’s confidence grow as they tackle increasingly complex problems with determination and resilience.

Our Geography lessons have led us to the wonders of rivers. We’ve started exploring their features, importance, and impact, and we’re excited to dive deeper into this topic in the weeks ahead.

In Science, we’ve been inspired by the incredible discoveries of Sir Isaac Newton. Learning about his work has sparked curiosity and some great discussions about gravity and motion.

PE has kept us active and on our toes as we develop our defensive skills in netball. It’s been brilliant to see teamwork and communication improving with every session.

Finally, our creativity shone in Design as we built spaghetti truss bridges. There were plenty of laughs and moments of triumph as we tested the strength of our designs—future engineers in the making!

Well done, Year 5, for all your hard work and enthusiasm this week. We can’t wait to see what next week brings!
