🌟 Superstars of the Week: Mock SATs!
First and foremost, a massive congratulations to all of Year 5. We have been working super hard with our mock SATs recently, and the children have absolutely smashed it!
They have made me so incredibly proud this week with their focus, determination, and positive attitudes. I hope they feel immensely proud of themselves too—they truly deserve to be.
📐 Marvelous Maths: 2-D and 3-D Shapes
In maths, we transitioned from test papers to practical geometry! We have been learning all about 2-D and 3-D shapes. The classroom was a hive of activity as we explored making and folding 3-D shape nets and investigated and identified the various properties of shapes (including vertices, edges, and faces).
📝 Excellent English: The Scarecrow's Diary
Moving over to English, the children have just finished writing a brilliant diary entry. This was written from the unique perspective of a scarecrow who visits a factory! The creativity in the room has been flowing, and the class worked incredibly hard to apply all of the new writing skills they have learned into their final pieces. Well done, authors!
🍩 Fun, Music, and Sweet Treats!
We also had a blast taking part in the Dads, Dudes and Donuts event—it was so lovely to see so many smiling faces!
Alongside this, we have had so much fun practising our special song in class. The children worked brilliantly as a team to brainstorm and choreograph their own actions, and we have thoroughly enjoyed every single rehearsal.
