What a Spectacular Year in Year 5! 🌟
As we reach the end of the summer term, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on what has been an absolutely wonderful year.
The children have worked incredibly hard, showing determination, resilience, and a fantastic attitude toward their learning. The progress they have made—both academically and socially—is something they should be immensely proud of. It has been a joy to watch them grow, find their voices, and support one another every step of the way.
Looking Ahead: A Brilliant Transition Day 🚀
To help prepare for the exciting step up to Year 6, we recently held our Transition Day. The classroom was absolutely buzzing with energy, and the children threw themselves into a variety of exciting activities designed to spark their creativity and teamwork:
Letters to Our Future Selves: The children wrote heartfelt and inspiring letters to themselves, which have been safely tucked away. They will be handed back and opened next year after they complete their SATs—a lovely reminder of how far they’ve come!
The Giant Doodle Page: We let our creativity run wild on a massive collaborative doodle page, showcasing everyone's unique artistic styles in one giant masterpiece.
Board Games & The Teacher Quiz: We enjoyed some classic board games and put the children’s detective skills to the test with a highly competitive quiz all about their class teacher. (They know me surprisingly well!)
Dragons' Den: Classroom Edition: Channeling their inner entrepreneurs, the children worked in teams to design their ideal Year 6 classroom layout. They pitched their brilliant, innovative ideas to the "Dragons" with fantastic confidence.
Have a Wonderful Summer! ☀️
This year has flown by, and it is safe to say these pupils are more than ready for the adventures and challenges of Year 6.
Thank you to all the parents and carers for your brilliant support throughout the year. I hope you all have a relaxing, safe, and fun-filled summer holiday. You have earned it, Year 5!
