As part of Black History Month we have been learning about Rosa Parks in reading . We were very impressed with her resilience and courage but were extremely shocked that she had been treated in such an awful way. We have also continued to read Danny the Champion of the World and are right on the Edge of our seats waiting to find out why he is the Champion of the World!!
In maths, we have been learning about statistics. We have interpreted line graphs and timetables and have even had a go at drawing our own line graphs to present data.
In writing, we have written poems to send off to enter the Young Writers competition. Hopefully, some of them will be published! We have then started to write stories based on the short animation clip, One Small Step . Next week, the children will write a story about their own hopes, dreams and ambitions for the future.
In history, we have continued on with our learning about the Ancient Egyptians. We have learnt all about the gruesome burial customs, the many gods and goddesses and about daily life in ancient Egypt. The children blew Mrs. Golden away last week with their diary entries in role as a child from ancient Egypt.
In science, we have been learning all about space. This week we learnt all about the different moon phases with OREOS!! Needless to say, both our brains and our taste buds were satisfied!
