What a wonderful first week back we have had! We are all incredibly excited for this final part of the summer term. There are so many brilliant events coming up on the horizon, including Sports Day and our highly anticipated Raising Aspirations Fair.
Here is a little look at what we have been diving into this week:
We kicked off the week by putting the final, polished touches on our tales with a twist based on The Three Little Pigs. The creativity on display was fantastic!
Now, we have shifted gears and begun exploring the key features of a diary entry. Over the next couple of weeks, the children will be writing from the perspective of a scarecrow who travels to the big city to discover how fast food is produced. We are already thoroughly enjoying this unit, and I just know everyone is going to produce some more fabulous writing.
In maths, we have officially moved on to our new topic: Shape. We have been busy exploring:
The unique properties of different quadrilaterals
The variety of triangles
Symmetry and how it works across shapes
The absolute highlight of the week was using our geo-boards to experiment. The classroom was buzzing as everyone challenged themselves to construct their own regular and irregular quadrilaterals!
I am so proud of how quickly the children have settled back into their routines. I can't wait to see what other exciting things we will be getting up to in our final half term together!
