Year 5 Blog - 04/09/2026

4th September 2026

Welcome back Year 5! It has been a delight to welcome you all through the door, full of smiles and enthusiasm ready for the year ahead.

The children have settled into Year 5 effortlessly, adapting with maturity. We have spent time embedding our routines, revisiting our school rules, and focusing on what it means to be kind and supportive classmates. What a welcoming group of children you all are!

Our learning is off to a flying start! In English, the children have begun examining a model text to help them craft their own setting descriptions inspired by Harry Potter. In Reading, excitement is building as we dive into Roald Dahl's Danny, the Champion of the World, making thoughtful predictions about what lies ahead for Danny and his dad. In Computing, we have been getting creative in Purple Mash, using the 'Fun with Fish' program to build upon our amazing coding skills.

It is going to be a fantastic year - Year 5 are ready for a challenge and we cannot wait to see what they can achieve!
