What a wonderful two weeks we’ve had discussing our character strengths during My Happy Mind. For some of us it was a little tricky thinking of one, but we all came together as a team and celebrated ourselves. Do you think your strength is teamwork and friendship? Love and kindness? Bravery and honesty? Love of life and our world? Exploring and learning? This week we have looked at setting a target for something we find trickier. We are going to work on our target and feel the dopamine spread through our bodies and make us feel happier. Something small can make all the difference. Our targets our personal to us but Mrs Childs wants to work on her love of life and find time to feed the ducks at the weekend.

In English, we are wrapping up our engaging unit on Holiday Brochures. After researching Florida’s sunny weather and thrilling attractions, the class finished planning their own persuasive brochures. They especially enjoyed creating unique names and logos for their imaginary travel companies, using exciting adjectives and persuasive language to tempt potential tourists.
In Maths, we have successfully completed our block on Place Value and Addition. The children have shown great determination, mastering column addition and exchanging—skills that some initially found tricky. Everyone is now feeling much more confident working with larger numbers and are eager to apply these essential skills to new problems.
