We’ve taken part in a lot of exciting things over the last two weeks, including two science workshops about ways we can save more water and the effects of climate change. We were put into groups and had to calculate using scenario cards which family wasted the most amount of water. We used different sized measuring equipment to ensure we were accurate with our measuring. We have also learned more about Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and how this can help to reduce the effects of climate change.
In English, we are just finishing our unit about play scripts. We have enjoyed learning more about the plague and some of its symptoms as well as talking about how life was different for people back in 1665. We created our own characters and are just getting ready to finish the play script with our own ideas for our independent writing.
In Maths, we have started our next topic on decimals. We have been making links between fractions and decimals to help us with our learning as well as looking at rounding decimals to the nearest whole number and adding and subtracting.
In Science, we have been learning more about states of matter. We have conducted lots of experiments to see how evaporation happens, how things melt quicker when they are heated up and can’t wait to create our very own water cycle in the classroom.
In Whole Class Reading, we are currently on Chapter 3 of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. We have read about Lucy finding the land of Narnia for the first time and meeting Mr Tumnus and can’t wait to hear more of the exciting adventures that will take place soon!
