There is so much to celebrate this half term. Year 4, have been learning about the fearless Queen Boudicca! She was a Celtic queen who bravely led a huge rebellion against the Roman army in ancient Britain. Her warriors burned Roman cities like Colchester and London. Boudicca is a powerful symbol of courage and fighting for freedom! What a hero!
In science, we have been looking at animal classification. Year 4 learned that vertebrates have a backbone, like mammals and fish. Invertebrates lack a backbone, and include insects and worms. We sorted examples using branching diagrams, clearly identifying the key physical difference.
We were ready to move! Our Year 4 Bhangra workshop was the perfect way to celebrate Diwali. We learnt the energetic basics of this traditional Punjabi dance, inspired by the festival of lights. We discovered fun, simple steps and vibrant hand movements. Our favourites were spreading the seeds and the chicken. It was a fantastic and joyful way to explore the culture behind Diwali!
