We’ve had another fantastic week filled with exciting learning and new discoveries! From diving into fascinating topics to challenging ourselves with new skills, it’s been a week of curiosity, creativity, and growth. Everyone has worked so hard and should be proud of their achievements!

In English, we’ve been unleashing our imaginations by crafting our own narrative stories inspired by a captivating picture. The image features a person in a small boat, surrounded by an incredible assortment of animals, including a woolly mammoth, seals, and polar bears. We’ve been focusing on creating vivid descriptions, building tension, and developing exciting plots to bring our stories to life. It’s been amazing to see everyone’s creativity shine through as we explore unique ideas and bring this magical scene to life with our writing!

In Maths, we’ve been diving into the world of fractions! Using fraction walls on our iPads, along with blocks, fraction circles, and counters, we’ve explored various ways to represent fractions. We’ve also been working hard to find fractions of different quantities, making our learning both interactive and fun!

In Science, we’ve been exploring the fascinating world of sound and how it travels. To investigate, we created string telephones and carefully listened to how much sound could be heard when someone spoke into one end. We discussed why the size of the cup might affect the sound and discovered how vibrations play a key role in transmitting it. Along the way, we also considered the importance of keeping our investigations fair to ensure reliable results. It’s been an exciting and hands-on way to learn about the science of sound!

In Music, we’ve been diving deeper into our exciting topic of rock and roll. We’ve explored its origins, discovered the key instruments that define the genre, and even made connections between rock and roll from the 1950s and modern rock music. One of the highlights has been learning and practicing the hand jive, which everyone has thoroughly enjoyed! To top it off, we came together as a class to perform Rock Around the Clock, adding our own creative actions to the verses. It’s been a fantastic mix of learning, rhythm, and fun!
