We’ve had a brilliant week this week and have had lots of fun out in the snow building snowmen and seeing who could build the biggest snowball!

In English we have come to the end of another unit where we have been exploring whether or not people should be allowed to climb Mount Everest. We have looked at some of the reasons for people being allowed as well as some of the reasons against.
In Maths we have been continuing to explore multiplication and division. We have used counters to explore different arrays and have looked at the link between multiplication and division. We have also been using this knowledge to find derived facts, thinking about what we know already and how this could help us to work out other facts too!
In Geography, we have learned about the structure of the Earth and know that it is made up of the crust, the mantle, the outer core and inner core. We have also looked at the difference between mountains and hills and have explored some of the main mountains in the UK.
In Science, we have been learning how to use a classification key to sort different types of plants. We have labelled the different parts of a plant and also learned that not all plants have roots! We now also know that if a plant has fruit, it must be a flowering plant because after the flower has died, the fruit grows in its place.
