It’s been another busy couple of weeks! From developing our guitar skills further and learning some new songs to completing assessments, everyone has been working really hard.
In English, we are coming to the end of our persuasive writing unit about a product called the ‘Stroodle’ - an eco-friendly straw made out of pasta! We are excited to start designing our own product and create a persuasive leaflet to encourage people to buy it.
In Maths, we have been deepening our knowledge on shape. We have explored different quadrilaterals and their properties as well as learning about four different kinds of triangles - right-angled, equilateral, isosceles and scalene! We’ve had lots of fun experimenting with drawing all of these different shapes!
In Science, we have been learning all about the different kinds of teeth that omnivores, herbivores and carnivores have and what this tells us about their diet. We have also taken part in The Great Science Share this week and have had a fun and exciting afternoon making our very own wind turbines. We have experimented with different materials to see which was the most effective and discussed how wind turbines are used to create energy.
We have been thoroughly enjoying our whole class reader ‘The Boy at the Back of the Class’ and have started to uncover more information about the new boy that has started the school. It has been filled with lots of different emotions already and everyone has been asking lots of questions, showing just how engaged they are!
