Year 4 Blog - 10.01.2025

10th January 2025

What a fantastic week it has been! The first week back has been super, the children have gotten straight back into the swing of things, picking up the routines, right where they left them!

This term, Year 4 are going to explore some exciting new topics!

In English, this week, Year 4 have been looking at a narrative piece of writing called ‘The Whale’. It is all about a girl called Lucy who is keen to find out whether the Great Spotted Whale is really out there!

In Maths this week, Year 4 has been exploring dividing by partitioning and using the short division method focussing on the importance of sharing things into equal groups. They have been using place value counters to help them this week!

This term, Year 4 have begun an exciting new history unit all about the Anglo-Saxons, and we’re kicking it off by looking at the significant events that happened during this period. We even created our very own timelines to shop these events in chronological order.

We have had a wonderful yet busy, first week back at school, and now we cannot wait to learn more over the next term.
