I can’t quite believe it.
This week has been fantastic watching the children shine in their Multiplication Tables Check. They have worked so hard and peaked at the right time. It was lovely to hear them say, ‘Well that was easy!’ as they left. Well done Year 4, we are so proud of you.
We are learning to compare and classify 2D shapes in math. By examining their properties - such as sides, angles, and symmetry - we can group them into categories like triangles, quadrilaterals, and polygons. This helps us understand how different shapes relate to one another and allows us to identify their unique geometric characteristics.

In English, we have started an exciting narrative unit based on The Tear Thief. This magical story follows a character who gathers the tears of crying children. By exploring its rich language and imagery, we are learning how to craft our own engaging narratives, focusing on character emotions, vivid descriptions, and building a compelling sense of atmosphere.

In MyHappyMind, we have begun our final unit of Year 4 called Engage. The module is broken down into three key components:
Understanding Goals: Teaching children the purpose of goals and why they are important for success.
Setting Goals: Learning how to set actionable, concrete goals.
Reviewing & Celebrating: Encouraging self-reflection, evaluating what worked, and celebrating achievements—even learning to accept it when goals aren't met.
Throughout the "Engage" module, students use myHappymind "Happy Breathing" and perseverance exercises to stay resilient, manage emotions, and work through their goals.
What a start to the final half term!
