Wow! What an incredible and energetic start to Year 4!

We are settling seamlessly into our new Year 4 routines and taking every opportunity to build strong, supportive friendships across the classroom. From managing our daily responsibilities to working collaboratively in lessons, it is already abundantly clear that this upcoming year will be truly fabulous. The children are consistently demonstrating wonderful maturity, showing everyone just how remarkably responsible, kind, and respectful they can be every day. 

This week, we have focused closely on our brilliant basics—settling smoothly back into school routines, organizing our learning spaces, and setting ambitious goals for the exciting year ahead. The children have shown fantastic pride in their work; their beautifully presented exercise books already reflect the high standards we set from day one. If we follow Mr Simpson’s advice and focus on getting just 1% better every single day, we know we will make extraordinary progress by next July.

In maths, we have already blown Mrs Childs away with our rapid-fire times tables skills! Everyone demonstrated a brilliant recall of their 2s, 5s, and 10s, putting many pupils well on their way toward earning that coveted golden pencil award. Over the next two weeks, we will be mastering our 3 times tables with fun challenges and quick-fire quizzes, so please feel free to test us at home—we are more than ready for the challenge! 🙂
