Year 3 Blog - 28.03.2025

28th March 2025

A very busy couple of weeks in year 3!!! Preparing for our wonderful Mother’s Day tea party, climate change workshop and music showcase. I’m not quite sure how we have fitted it all in to two weeks.

In our writing lessons we have been creating our very own story. We have taken our readers on a journey back to the Industrial Revolution. We have used our knowledge to create a journey where a character from the modern world encounters a character from the Industrial Revolution and they explore their houses, town and even mines, factories and the glassworks. The children have been brilliant at using their knowledge to help them create a very accurate story.

Maths has been all about division. We have been looking at our division equations are made of a divided, a divisor and a quotient. We have then looked at how we can break down an equation into parts. We have then moved onto breaking down 2 digit numbers to help us use our times table knowledge to solve more complex equations.

In our reading lessons we have come to the end of our adventure with Frankie Banister and the Nothing to see here hotel.

The children have worked incredibly hard on their performance for Mother’s Day and i am so proud of how well they did. It’s definitely a tune that has got stuck in our heads.
