I simply cannot believe we have reached the end of the academic year and the conclusion of our wonderful Year 3 journey. It feels like only yesterday we were welcoming everyone through the classroom doors in September, and now here we are, preparing to say goodbye. It has been an absolutely incredible year, filled with growth, laughter, and so many wonderful memories that we have created together—from our exciting trips to our brilliant school performances.

It has certainly been a very jam-packed year, and the children have worked incredibly hard throughout. They have thoroughly immersed themselves in their learning, making sure they give it their absolute all in every single lesson. I am so proud of the determination, curiosity, and enthusiasm they have shown day in and day out.

In our writing lessons, we have loved exploring a variety of different genres this year. To wrap up our final term, the children finished the year by writing their very own set of instructions titled "The Survival Guide to Year 3." We took inspiration from the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, which have been a firm favourite in our class all year. The children had fantastic fun putting their own humorous, creative spin on school life, sharing top tips on how to navigate the classroom, manage the playground, and thrive in Year 3. The final guides were absolutely brilliant!

Over in maths, we finished our final curriculum topics by stretching ourselves and exploring four-digit numbers. The children looked at how these larger numbers can be broken down using our place value charts, showing a fantastic understanding of thousands, hundreds, tens, and ones. They also mastered rounding these numbers to the nearest 1000, and practiced mentally adding and subtracting 100 from them. It has been wonderful to see their mathematical confidence soar.

Outside of our books, the children have truly shone as performers and athletes. We recently showed off our incredible guitar skills in our class music concert, and I want to say a massive thank you to all the family members and friends who came along to watch and support us. The children worked incredibly hard on learning these different songs, practicing their chords and rhythms, and their dedication definitely paid off—they sounded absolutely fantastic! In addition to our guitar showcase, we also enjoyed a highly competitive and supportive Sports Day, filled with great teamwork, alongside a fabulous Jazz concert that got everyone tapping their toes.

It has been an absolute pleasure to teach you all this year. Each and every one of the children has brought something unique, kind, and special to our classroom. I know you will all continue to shine and show off your wonderful selves as you move up. Thank you so much to all the parents, guardians, and carers for your continued support throughout this busy year; we could not have done it without you. I hope everyone has a wonderful, relaxing summer holiday. Please rest up, stay safe, and get ready for the exciting adventure of Year 4 in September!
