Year 2 Blog - 28.03.2025

28th March 2025

This week in Year 2, we’ve been learning a lot of exciting things in different subjects! Here’s a peek at what we’ve been up to:

Maths:
We’ve been exploring positional language, which has been lots of fun! We’ve learned how to give directions using words like clockwise and anticlockwise. We’ve also used shapes to help us understand the different positions and directions better. It's been great practice using these terms and figuring out how to give clear instructions to each other!

Writing:
In writing, we’ve started a brand-new narrative piece based on the story "The Building Boy." We’ve been working on creating our own imaginative stories, using inspiration from the book. It’s been fun to think about what we would build if we were the “Building Boy” and how our own stories could unfold in exciting ways!

Science:
In science, we’ve been learning about why it’s so important for humans to drink water. We’ve discussed the ways water helps our bodies stay healthy, and we’ve even done some experiments to understand how we can stay hydrated.

Art & Creativity:
This week, we also got super creative by making beautiful Mother’s Day cards. Everyone put in a lot of thought and effort to make something special for their mums. Alongside the cards, we’ve been practising our performance for the Mother’s Day Tea Party. It’s going to be such a lovely event, and we can’t wait to show our mums all the hard work we’ve put in!

We’ve had a wonderful week full of learning and creativity, and we look forward to another exciting week ahead!
