It’s hard to believe, but the October half-term is already here! Where did those eight short weeks go? Time has absolutely flown by, but I’m incredibly proud to say that Year 2 has made incredible progress since September. It’s been a fantastic start to the school year, and I can't wait to see all the amazing things we'll achieve in the coming months!

What We've Been Up To 

Writing Adventures

We've put a brilliant close to our first writing topic! Year 2 completed their Great Fire of London diaries, showing off some fantastic historical knowledge and amazing descriptive writing. We've just started dipping our toes into our new topic based on a familiar tale, 'Little Red Riding Hood'. We are so excited to plan and write our own fractured fairytales and stories right after the break! Get ready for some creative twists on the classic story!

Marvelous Maths

This term, we’ve been busy getting hands-on in Maths! We were all about measurement, grabbing our rulers and metre sticks to learn how to accurately measure different objects. It was a great challenge, and everyone did a fantastic job at not only measuring but also learning how to compare centimetres and metres. What a practical skill to master!

Topics & Quizzes

Our history topic on the Great Fire of London ended with a bang—a fun quiz to test all our knowledge! It was a wonderful way to consolidate everything we’ve learned about this pivotal moment in London’s history.

Looking Ahead... 

After a well-deserved break, we'll be swapping historical events for geography! We are so excited to start learning all about the United Kingdom . Get ready to explore capital cities, landmarks, and maybe even some delicious regional foods!
