What a sparkling, busy, and joyous week we have had! As we approach the final countdown to Christmas, the classroom has been filled with laughter, creativity, and a real sense of holiday spirit.
Here is a look at what our wonderful Year 2 learners have been up to:
We officially wrapped up our writing unit this week, and I am so proud of the children. They have been working hard on their poetry, and the results were simply incredible! Most importantly, they were absolutely hilarious. We had a wonderful time sharing them aloud; the wit and imagination in this class never cease to amaze me.
In our Computing sessions, we swapped pens for pixels. We explored Purple Mash, where the children dived into various coding games. It was great to see them developing their logical thinking and "debugging" skills while having a blast navigating through the different levels.
The classroom has been transformed into an elf’s workshop! We have been getting into the festive spirit by creating:
● Personalized Christmas Cards to send home to loved ones.
● 2026 Calendars to help us stay organized for the new year.
● Festive Crafts that have added a lot of glitter and cheer to our desks.
We also held a very competitive Christmas Jumper coloring competition. The designs were vibrant, unique, and very stylish—we certainly have some budding fashion designers in our midst!
Even our PE lessons took a festive turn! To keep our energy up, we explored some exciting Christmas-themed games. The favorites were definitely:
● Reindeer Hokey Cokey: A classic with a North Pole twist!
● Musical Snowmen: There was some very impressive freezing (and melting!) happening on the playground.
It has been a delight to see the children so engaged and happy during this busy term. Their hard work in their writing and their kindness toward one another during our crafts has been the best early Christmas gift.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year!
