Wow! What a fantastic week back to learning it's been in Year 2! We've jumped straight back in and haven't stopped exploring some exciting new topics.
This week, we've become amazing data detectives in our Maths lessons! We've been looking at lots of different ways to collect and show information. We learned about:
Tally charts
Bar models
Block graphs
Pictograms
The best part? We got to collect our own data about fun things like hair colours, eye colours, and our favourite drinks! It was a great way to put our new skills into practice and see the results displayed so clearly.
We have continued to stack and build our wonderful stories all about Little Red Reading Hood this week. We're getting really good at developing characters and creating exciting plots!
Next week is going to be even more thrilling! We are starting to plan and write our very own narrative story based on the classic tale, 'Jack and the Beanstalk', but with a super exciting twist! Get ready for some creative storytelling!
In Science, we've launched into a brilliant new topic: Earth and Space! We had a brilliant time learning about our solar system. We can now proudly tell you exactly how many planets there are! We also learned some important new words, like 'orbit', and what it means for the planets around the Sun.
Our Design and Technology (DT) lessons have started a brilliant new topic all about structures! Our ultimate challenge will be to design and build a chair for Baby Bear.
This week, we've been focusing on what makes a structure strong. We can't wait for next week where we'll be putting our creations to the test to see which structure is the strongest for Baby Bear's new seat!
It's been a brilliant and busy week! We are so excited for everything we have planned for next week!
