This week we have had a fantastic time learning about languages of the world for International Mother Language Day. Some of the children showed us their traditional clothes and even gave us master classes in Polish, Greek and Punjabi! After being taught the colours in Greek, we experienced the Greek alphabet and coloured in a rainbow using English and Greek colour labels. What a fun day!

We have been star mathematicians this week and have continued to explore place value by counting in bundles of tens and ones and sequencing numbers on a numberline. Ask us how we know which of two numbers is greater! In English, we continued our phonics journey and have been practising our reading and spelling skills. We have also begun our new Geography topic of, ‘Extreme Weather’, finding out all about meteorologists and weather forecasting. Our challenge now is to monitor the weather over the next couple of weeks to look for patterns and see how accurate forecasts are. What a great start to this half term! Well done, Class One!
