In Phonics, we've been exploring the sounds 'o-e,' 'ur,' and 'er,' and the children are making fantastic progress in identifying and using these sounds. We also began reading a new book, Tag, which the students are thoroughly enjoying! Their writing skills are growing every day as they continue to hold a sentence and put it to paper with increasing confidence. In our reading lessons this week we have learnt about Diwali and answered questions about the wonderful ways people celebrate the festival of lights. In Maths, we dove into repeating patterns using various shapes and colours. The children have also started creating their own rangoli designs, adding a colourful and creative twist to their understanding of patterns. In Art, each child made their very own art book! They are already taking pride in adding their unique drawings and enjoying the process of creating their personal masterpieces.
A definite highlight of our week was our trip to Hartlebury Castle, where we spent the day exploring toys from the past. It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to see firsthand how toys have evolved over time, and they loved comparing these historical items to the toys they use today. We also had wonderful Parents' Evenings this week. It was lovely to share all the incredible progress and achievements your children have made so far. I am immensely proud of their hard work, enthusiasm, and growth.
Wishing you all a fantastic half term—enjoy the break, and we look forward to welcoming Year 1 back with more exciting learning ahead!
Thank you for your ongoing support!
