In Year 1 we have been working very hard in all our lessons.

In maths we have spent a lot of time exploring our numbers to 20, what they are made up of and how to add and subtract within 20 in lots of different ways.

In phonics we have been making lots of wonderful progress across the groups, completing our assessments to see what groups will be like soon!

In geography we have looked at compasses, with most of us remembering our directions (with the help of our very easy way to remember: Never, eat shredded wheat).

In our whole class reading we received a very important package! From the Jolly Potman himself!  I am very proud of the effort and progress the children have made towards improving their handwriting and we look forward to starting our whole class reader : The Jolly Postman next week!
