We’ve had a fantastic start to the school year, with the children settling in brilliantly and showing tremendous enthusiasm. Our themed days have been a highlight, from exploring R.E. activities last week to celebrate the imaginative world of Roald Dahl this Friday. Each day has been filled with joy and creativity, setting a wonderful tone for the rest of the year.
In Maths this week we have been looking at the composition of numbers in lots of different ways, including our part, part, whole models! In English we have been focusing on building sentences and proofreading our work. Our writing is closely linked to our Phonics this year and the children are finding the transition between the lessons very easy! In Phonics this week we have looked at phonemes ‘ay’. ‘ee’, and ‘igh’.
We have thoroughly enjoyed engaging in bubbly experiments in science, delving into the fascinating evolution of toys throughout history, and discovering the rhythm in music while exploring the myriad ways we can move our bodies.
A huge congratulations to all the children for settling into Year 1 so splendidly! We are eagerly looking forward to more exciting and enriching learning experiences in the coming week
