This week in Year One has been full of excitement and progress! In math, the children have been practicing ordering numbers from 0 to 50, improving their understanding of number patterns through fun activities and games. In phonics, they've been settling into their new groups and giving their best effort, making great strides in reading and writing as they practice their sounds and blending. History was a highlight as we role-played as nurses and explored the lives of three significant figures: Mary Seacole, Florence Nightingale, and Edith Cavell. The children engaged thoughtfully in comparing these remarkable women and learning about the incredible contributions they made during times of conflict and illness. It’s been a week full of growth, learning, and enthusiasm, and we’re so proud of all they’ve achieved!
