What a busy and exciting week it's been for our Year 1 adventurers! In Maths, they've been becoming little money experts, learning all about the different properties of coins and notes and even comparing amounts. It's been wonderful to see their understanding grow as they get to grips with recognising and valuing money. Phonics has been in full swing too, as we've been working hard to consolidate all their learning and get super ready for the Phonics Screening Check next week. They've shown such dedication, and I'm incredibly proud of how much progress they've made! Our History topic concluded with an incredibly engaging role-play of mining strikes, which brought the past to life and helped them understand this significant part of history. Finally, in DT, we kicked off our textiles unit, and the classroom was abuzz with creativity as the children explored different ways to join fabric together using glue, staples, and safety pins. They loved experimenting with these new techniques! It's been a truly productive and fun week for everyone in Year 1.
