This week Year 1 have been busy investigating!
In maths we have enjoyed investigating place value within 100. We have built numbers using Dienes and explored other ways of representing these numbers. In science, we have been investigating materials. Firstly, we discovered that some materials were natural whereas others were man-made and then we explored the properties of a range of materials, choosing which properties we wanted to sort them by.
In history we used photographs to investigate what is was like in mines before drawing our own conclusions about where we would like to work in a mine. We also investigated our new whole class reading text - ‘Dogger’, exploring the theme of lost things and ready the introductory part of the story.
It has been a fun week and we are very excited to see what else we will find out in our new topics this term.
Great work, Class 1!
