We have had a great time exploring the theme of heroes in our communities this week.  We have found out about the work of emergency service providers and the heroic attributes that they have. Whilst doing this, we have been developing our cutting skills by cutting along curved and straight lines to make cone heroes and have been making fire engines in our loose parts areas and modelling area.    In maths, we have been exploring ordinal numbers and thinking about the sequence of events across our day.  In art this week, we have explored the work of Wassily Kandinsky by using geometric shapes to make our own transient artwork in his style.  We finished reading Supertato and wrote about our favourite parts and we have now started our new whole class reading text, ‘Astro Girl’.  We’re excited to find out which hero we might meet in this story.
