We have had a lovely couple of weeks exploring our whole class reading text - ‘Handa’s Surprise’.  We have learned about Africa and have explored how life in Africa is similar and different to where we live.  We tasted fruits from the story and found words to describe them then made a class pictograph of which ones were our favourites. We have also been mapping Handa’s journey to her friend Akeyo’s house then we used maps to find out what is around our school and to map our journeys to school.  Today we had the chance to sing to and spend time with our mums at the Mother’s Day Tea Party.  We sang our hearts out for them and had some very special moments together.  What a fun and busy fortnight we have had!
