Reception Class became bakers as we brought our topic of ‘The Little Red Hen’ to a close by making our own tasty bread rolls.  We enjoyed kneading the dough and shaping it ready for baking.

This week, we have had a magical time exploring the story, ‘Room on the Broom!’  We have made recipes for a spell to help the Witch stop losing things, collected in the spiders that had escaped from the Witch’s larder and retold the story through role play. 

We have also been studying minibeasts and doing our own observational drawings.  We noticed the different parts of their bodies and enjoyed drawing what we could see. What a great couple of weeks we have had!  It was lovely to see our wonderful parents and carers at Parents’ Evening this week and to be able to share all of the great steps the children have taken in their learning this half term.
