It has been a busy couple of weeks in Reception Class and we have had great fun learning through stories about stories by Oliver Jeffers. We explored the stars through the story, ‘How to catch a Star’ and this week, we have been reading, ‘Lost and Found’ and have begun to learn about the South Pole and penguins. We’re looking forward to finding out more about this part of the world next week. In maths, we learned about addition by combining parts of a number to find the whole number and we have been exploring capacity by comparing containers that are full, half full and empty. In our expressive arts and design, we have been exploring the work of Vincent Van Gogh and Henri Mattisse. We learned how to mix colours and paint swirls and made our own artwork inspired by Van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night’. Well done Reception Class - great learning!
