What an absolutely spectacular end to a truly wonderful year! The last two weeks of the summer term have been a whirlwind of excitement, reflection, and celebration as our Reception children stepped into their official transition phase.
It is always bittersweet to watch some of our youngest learners prepare to take their next big step, but we couldn't be prouder of the confident, kind, and ambitious individuals they have become. Here is a look back at how we celebrated the end of their EYFS journey!
We marked the end of the EYFS chapter with a beautiful celebration event, and let’s just say our Reception stars did not disappoint!
The highlights of the showcase included:
The Aspire-o-saur Dance: A high-energy, prehistoric performance that had everyone smiling.
"Try Everything" Performance: They blew us all away with a brilliant rendition of this uplifting song. It was the perfect anthem to sum up their entire EYFS journey—showing resilience, bravery, and a willingness to always give things a go!
During the celebration, the children shared their "aspire sentences," telling us all what they hope to be when they grow up. The future is looking incredibly bright (and wonderfully diverse!).
Our future workforce includes:
🔬 Brilliant scientists
🩰 Graceful ballerinas
❤️ Loving mommies
⚽ Fair-minded football referees
...and so much more! Whatever they choose to do, we know they have the drive to achieve it.
Showing just how much they have grown, our children took on the role of leaders this week. They welcomed the incoming Reception class and took great pride in teaching them the ropes.
They showed the new children how to:
Look after the classroom so it stays a fun place to learn.
Treat activities and resources with respect, ensuring everything is tided away beautifully.
Seeing them pass on their wisdom with such kindness and patience was a real highlight of the term.
Transition is all about looking forward, and our children got a fantastic sneak peek of what lies ahead. They spent some quality time in Year 1, exploring their new classroom environment with incredible confidence. They asked great questions, tried out new spaces, and proved they are more than ready for the next stage of their learning adventure.
To all of our amazing Reception children: you have filled our classrooms with laughter, curiosity, and joy this year. Thank you for being so wonderful.
We wish you the absolute best of luck as you start your new adventure in Year 1. Keep shining, keep trying everything, and always aim high!
