This week, we have been enjoying our new topic of ‘Celebrations’.  First, we found out more about Diwali.  We made more decorations and enjoyed finding out how Diwali was celebrated last week in the UK.

We have also been learning about the true story of Bonfire Night including how to keep safe at a firework display.  We were visited by a nervous hedgehog called Hedgy who we have been building a safe home for.  In the end, we made Hedgy a home with a skylight roof so he could watch the stars as he sheltered. 

We have also been developing our phonics skills by segmenting and blending words using the phonemes we already know.  We are doing really well with this and were surprised at how many words we could already make!
