4th September 2026

Reception have had a wonderful first first days at their new school/class. Every child has shown a lot of confidence within the classroom. It has been so lovely to see all of the class getting to know each other, making friends so quickly!

These last fews days we have had so much fun and learning going on in reception, we even celebrated our first birthday in the class together! We loved hearing about what everyone got up to during the holidays during snack and chat, and enjoyed reading your postcards to Tenterbear. We have already started to learn some sounds in phonics, looking at stretching ‘m’ and ‘s’, and bouncing ‘a’. I am super proud of how quickly we have started to recognise these! We have also been doing lots of counting to 10, forwards and backwards!

Reception have spent a lot of time exploring the outside area, the role play corner and the creative table. It is very clear to see we have a lot of footballers within the class! We have spent time making collages, just like Greta Bratescu, to decorate buckets for Harry and his Dinosaurs.

Well done Reception on your first week at Tenterfields, you have all done amazing!
