Weekly Wonders: Our Nursery Update!
Hello to all our wonderful parents and carers! It has been an incredibly busy and "fairytale-filled" few weeks here at nursery. The children have been working so hard, and their enthusiasm for learning is truly a joy to see.
We have officially wrapped up our Little Red Riding Hood topic. It was fantastic to hear the children's voices filling the room as they confidently joined in with the repeated refrains and main parts of the story. They certainly know how to keep an eye out for that sneaky wolf! Speaking of wolves, we have now moved on to The Three Little Pigs. The children are already hooked, though I’m afraid to report that the Big Bad Wolf is still up to his old mischief! We’ve been huffing, puffing, and exploring different materials that the pigs used to build their houses.

One of the nursery rhymes that the children have been practicing has been the classic 5 Little Currant Buns. Not only is it a favourite for singing, but it’s also a brilliant way for us to practice our taking away and counting skills.
In our Maths sessions, we have been reaching for the clouds as we explored height. Using beanstalks as our guide, the children have been comparing tall and short, ordering objects from smallest to largest and using mathematical language to describe what they see.
A huge thank you to everyone for the effort put into World Book Day. The nursery was transformed into a sea of colour as the children arrived dressed as their favourite characters! It was a magical day spent sharing stories, and several children took the opportunity to share their own books from home with the rest of the class. It is so heartening to see such a budding love for reading.

Beyond our stories and sums, we have been taking some quiet moments to think about ourselves and our lives. We have been discussing the people who are special to us and why they mean so much. It has been lovely to hear the children talk about their families and friends with such warmth.
Through it all, the children continue to be the amazing, kind, and creative class that they are. We are very proud of them!
