🐓 Bumble Farm Mayhem! Our Latest Nursery Adventures! 🚜

What a week of wonderful waking up and wicked mischief here in Nursery class! Following our nocturnal adventures last week, we opened our eyes to find ourselves right in the middle of a very busy place: Bumble Farm!

The problem? The lazy Rooster forgot to crow, which means the farmer is still asleep, and there's absolute chaos amongst the animals! We've been having the best time helping to sort things out, all while learning some fantastic new skills.

🔢 Two Times the Fun!

The number of the week has been two, and we've been seeing double!

  • We’ve been using our brand-new interactive whiteboard to play exciting games, helping us to recognise the numeral '2' and count out two objects.

  • The children are becoming so confident in matching the symbol to the amount—a fantastic start to their mathematical journey!

👂 Listening Ears and Phonics Fun

The farm is a noisy place, and we've been putting our listening ears to the test!

  • We played a great game of 'listening in' to all the different farmyard sounds, helping us to tune in and discriminate between them.

  • In our phonics sessions, we've incorporated all those brilliant animal noises! The children had fun making up sound sequences for our 'create and remember sequences,' which is a crucial skill for early reading and writing.

🚜 Sensory Play

Our hands-on learning has been brilliant this week!

  • The sensory table was transformed into a messy, magnificent farm using cereals and mini-tractors. The children loved scooping, pouring, and making tracks, developing those all-important fine motor skills.

Happy Minds

  • We also held our second 'My Happy Mind' session. This week, we focused on learning all about our amazing brains and how they help us feel and learn. It’s so important to teach the children to understand their emotions from a young age!

🌲 Forest School Habitats

Out in our Forest School, we combined our love for the outdoors with some imaginative play:

  • We used natural materials to design and build cozy, safe habitats for our cuddly forest animal toys—what amazing engineers we have!

Safety First

  • In our Personal, Social and Emotional (PSED) lessons, we had a very grown-up conversation about allergies. We learned how important it is to keep our friends safe by not eating nuts around them. It was wonderful to see the children show such kindness and responsibility.

🌟 Nativity News!

The most exciting news of all? We've started practicing for our Nativity performance!

We are busy learning all the beautiful new songs and getting into the festive spirit. Next week is going to be even more exciting as the children find out their roles and we start to try on our fantastic costumes! Get ready for a real Christmas treat!
