Wow, Tenterfields Nursery Class has been absolutely buzzing with excitement this past week! We’ve had so many amazing adventures and learned so many new things, it’s hard to know where to begin!
The moment we’ve all been patiently waiting for finally arrived – we released our beautiful butterflies! It was so magical to see them up close, gently fluttering their wings, before they soared off into the big wide world. We learned so much about their life cycle, and it was a truly special experience to watch them transform. We wish our little butterfly friends all the best on their journey!
Last week, we had such a fantastic time celebrating our wonderful dads and special dudes at our Father's Day celebrations! We loved performing for you all, and it was so lovely to see so many smiling faces. Thank you for coming and sharing such a special time with us!
Our brains have been busy exploring the exciting world of 2D shapes! We’ve been learning all about circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles, and we even became shape detectives, finding these shapes all around our classroom environment. We got super creative, making our own 2D shapes using lots of different materials – it was so much fun!
We’ve also been thinking very carefully about how we can be kind to each other. We looked at lots of different actions and sorted them into “kind” and “unkind,” just like in our topic story, The Rainbow Fish. It’s so important to be kind to our friends, and we’re all trying our best to share our sparkle and be wonderful, caring friends every day.
What an incredible time we had at our Science Stay and Play! It was a whirlwind of amazing activities and discoveries. We got creative making under the sea sensory bottles, which were so calming and beautiful. We also became little gardeners, planting seeds and learning about how things grow. Our ocean rice cakes were a delicious and fun scientific experiment for our tastebuds!
We ventured out on exciting bug hunts, discovering all sorts of tiny creatures in our outdoor area. We even built an amazing river obstacle course, using our bodies and minds to navigate the twists and turns. And to top it all off, we transformed into daring pirates, searching for magnetic treasure! Thank you to all our grown-ups who came to play and explore with us – it was a truly memorable day filled with scientific wonders!
