Festive Fun at Tenterfields: A Magical Christmas Week!
What a whirlwind of sparkle, sugar, and smiles we’ve had this week in the Nursery class! At Tenterfields, we believe in making the final week of the term unforgettable, and our little learners certainly stepped up to spread some holiday cheer.
🎄 The "National Elf Service" in Action
Our week kicked off with National Elf Service Day, where the children became Santa’s official helpers. It was a busy day of giving back and getting organised:
● The Postmasters: The children took charge of the class mail, carefully sorting through the Christmas card post to ensure every message found its way to the right friend.
● Holiday Baking: The classroom smelled divine as we baked batches of gingerbread men and Christmas trees.
● Spreading Joy: We didn't just stay in our classroom! We made handmade Christmas baubles for every single class in the school—and even made a special one for Mr. Simpson.
● Good Neighbours: To finish our "Elf Service," we created homemade craft gifts to drop off to our school neighbors, spreading the Tenterfields spirit into the wider community so be sure to deliver these to your special neighbour.
✨ Creativity & Teamwork
The creativity was out in full force this week! The children got creative making starry Christmas cards and colorful rainbow calendars to take home.
One of our favorite highlights was working together as a team to assemble our brand-new Christmas tree. It is now twinkling beautifully in our classroom, adorned with shiny red baubles, glittering tinsel, and festive red ribbons. It really makes our learning space feel like a winter wonderland!
🎅 A Very Special Visitor
No Christmas week is complete without a trip to the Grotto. The children were thrilled to visit Father Christmas! He had a special present for everyone to say "thank you" for all the wonderful rainbow choices the children have made throughout the year. We celebrated the moment by sipping hot chocolate and singing our favorite Christmas songs at the top of our lungs.
🍿 Pyjama Party Finale
We wrapped up the term in the cosiest way possible. On our final day, we traded our school uniforms for Christmas jumpers and pyjamas. We spent the afternoon relaxing with a Christmas movie, a warm drink, and a biscuit treat—the perfect end to a very busy term.
