Weekly Highlights: Settling Back and Growing Together!
The children have had a lovely first week back at school, quickly settling back into their daily routines and getting stuck into their learning with fantastic enthusiasm.
This term, our exciting new topic is 'Growing and Changing'. To launch this theme, our book focus for the next few weeks is the classic tale, The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle. The children have already been exploring the key vocabulary used in the story, helping to expand their language and comprehension skills.

Here is a look at what we have been up to in our different learning areas this week:
Marvellous Maths: We have been counting flowers and matching them to the correct numbered flower pot. This has been a brilliant way to practise one-to-one correspondence and number recognition.
Fine Motor Skills and Handwriting: To strengthen our finger muscles, we have been busy copying patterns onto the petals of a flower. We also added some sparkle to our handwriting practice by mastering our letter formation in bright green glitter!

Creative Playdough: Our creative area was buzzing as the children used playdough to make their own flowers, decorating them using a wide range of colourful resources and loose parts.
Sensory Exploration: Our sensory bin was transformed into a gardening hub! The children used hands-on experiences to scoop, pour, and fill flower pots up, developing their spatial awareness and motor skills.
It has been a busy and beautiful start to the new term. Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to another week of watching our young learners grow!
