🌟 Nativity News and Festive Fun from Nursery! 🎄

What a wonderfully busy and exciting time it has been in the Nursery class! We've been fully immersed in the festive spirit and have been working incredibly hard, especially on preparations for our upcoming Nativity play!

🎭 Our Nativity Journey

The children have been simply brilliant as they prepare to share the Nativity story you.

  • Singing and Dancing: Our classroom has been filled with joyful noise as we've practiced our songs and movements. It's been so much fun watching them dance and sing with such enthusiasm!

  • Special Costumes: The excitement levels peaked when it came time to try on our special costumes! Seeing themselves as angels, shepherds, stars, sheep, donkey’s, camels and more has made the story truly come alive.

  • Learning the Story: We have explored the Nativity story in depth during our literacy sessions. The children are getting very good at retelling the key parts using the illustrations.

  • Oracy Skills: In our planned talk sessions, we've used our fantastic oracy sentence skills to describe different Nativity scenes, helping us to focus on using descriptive language.

  • Body Percussion: We even got physical by experimenting with body percussion to represent the different characters—think loud stomping for donkeys and gentle quiet claps for angels!

🌟Marvellous Maths

Beyond the stage, we’ve been keeping our minds and bodies active:

  • Maths Patterns: We've successfully challenged ourselves in maths by learning how to extend our ABAB patterns! Interactive games and catchy songs have been the perfect way to make this tricky concept fun.🧠 Mindful Moments

  • Happy Minds Focus: The children have focused on their emotional well-being by creating playdough brains to understand how we think, working on fine motor brain pencil control activities, and practicing calming happy breathing techniques.

  • Sensory Play: We’ve enjoyed wonderful sensory play with "reindeer food," scooping and pouring into different sized and shaped snowman containers—a brilliant way to practice our measuring and comparison skills whilst having some sensory fun.

🌲 Forest School Adventures 

  • Forest School Focus: Safety first! We have been learning how to sit safely around the fire area at Forest School, ready for the exciting festive adventures we have planned in the coming weeks.

🌟New Friends

  • Welcome New Friends: We were delighted to welcome some of the children who will be joining our Nursery class in January! They had a lovely time getting to know their new classmates and teachers.

We are so incredibly proud of all the hard work and dedication the children have shown. We are now excited to officially invite you to our Nativity performance next week—they can't wait to share their special show with you!
