We’ve had such a fun and busy week in Nursery! The children have been diving into all sorts of exciting hands-on activities, making friends, and learning new skills right across the nursery room.
Our star book this week is ‘Koala Makes the Right Choice’. The children loved looking at the front cover, making predictions about the story, and talking about the characters.
Throughout the week, Koala helped us talk about our own feelings and choices in Nursery. We talked about what makes a kind friend, how to make "right choices", and practiced taking turns. We even used a visual sand-timer to help us share our new toys nicely.

In our mark making area and story sessions, we’ve been exploring the concept of place and home. The children drew pictures of where they live and chatted about their doors, windows, gardens, and flats.
Here is a quick peek at what else we’ve been up to around the classroom:
Fine motor skills: We have been practicing our cutting skills, developing our fine motor skills and strengthening the muscles in our hands.

We have been working hard at the creative table making our very own Koalas using grey paint, adding two eyes, two ears and his black nose. The children have thoroughly enjoyed completing this creative work.

In our sensory bin full of shredded paper, the children went hunting for matching pairs, comparing big and small shapes, dominoes, and buttons.

In the music area, we experimented with playing instruments very gently to make soft, peaceful sounds.
We also enjoyed our PE lesson on Tuesday, had a wonderful adventure during Forest School on Wednesday, and danced along to “Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush”!
Have a wonderful weekend, and we can’t wait to see everyone next week!
