Welcome to Our New Nursery Starters!

We’ve had a wonderful start to the term in Nursery as we welcomed our new starter children into our class. It’s been a joy to see how quickly they’ve settled in, exploring the exciting range of activities we have on offer and beginning to form lovely new friendships.

This term, we’ve begun our topic "Growing and Changing", and we’re already diving into some fascinating learning. We’ve been focusing on life cycles, starting with a closer look at the life cycle of a butterfly. The children have been captivated by how a tiny egg transforms into a beautiful butterfly, and we’ve been using pictures, stories, and hands-on activities to help them understand each stage.

In maths, we’ve been working on sequencing, which ties in perfectly with our life cycle theme. We’ve explored how events happen in a certain order, using familiar rhymes and number songs to reinforce this learning in a fun and interactive way.

Our music sessions have also been a hit! We’ve been listening carefully to pitch changes in songs and experimenting with our own voices to sing rhymes in high and low pitches. The children have loved using their voices expressively, and it's been fantastic to hear their confidence grow as they join in with more and more songs. We have used the well known rhyme ‘Incy Wincy Spider’ to experiment with pitch which means we have ticked another rhyme off our WATaRhyme challenge. 

We’re so proud of how well all the children have started this new chapter and how well the other children have welcomed them in to our setting. We’re looking forward to a term full of growth, discovery, and lots more fun!
