We are thrilled to announce that our special Tenterfields Primary Academy Christmas tree has been fully assembled and is now proudly displayed at St John’s Church in Halesowen!
We chose to create a tree that reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainability, constructing it entirely from recycled wooden pallets. It’s a wonderful visual reminder that we can be both festive and environmentally conscious.

The unique decorations on our pallet tree are not traditional baubles; they are chains showcasing the Christmas Wishes written by our children. We challenged the children to think beyond themselves and articulate what they truly wish for the world—wishes that would spread kindness and joy to others.
The children’s responses were heart-warming and did not disappoint! Their wishes perfectly encapsulated the spirit of giving and community. Some of the moving wishes included:
That everyone receives a hot meal this winter.
That no animals are ever abandoned or hurt.
That no one feels lonely during the festive season.
Before the tree was transported to the church, we were lucky enough to show it to Alex Ballinger, MP for Halesowen, during his visit on Friday. Mr Ballinger commented on how lovely the sustainable design was, but he was particularly impressed by the depth and maturity of the children's wishes, noting how kind and thoughtful our pupils were to wish such things.
We encourage all our families and local community members to visit St John’s Church to view the tree and read the inspiring messages our children have shared.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring this sustainable, heartfelt project to life!
